A delightful and relaxing villa with four double bedrooms and its own heated pool, located on the seafront in the old fishing village of Playa San Juan and just a 5 - 10 min stroll to shops, restaurants and safe swimming beach. Fully refurbished for the 2024 season it is perfect for a family holiday and can be booked for 4 to 8 people.
Playa San Juan is a charming resort with numerous seafront bars and dining establishments. Many of these are in easy walking distance of Villa del Mar. It is situated in the middle of the west coast, and not on the busy south
On Wednesdays, a Farmers’ market is held in the village square.
Playa San Juan has a permanent residential population and offers shops, bars and an array of restaurants from local Spanish menus to specialist seafood eateries, Italian restaurants and all in between. Fishing vessels come back to port early morning to offload their catch and supply local restaurants.
Playa San Juan has a safe protected beach with a secure 260m sea swimming area, enjoys walking promenades with pitches for pétanque and walking paths along the coast heading north for 10km to Los Gigantes. The village is well served by the new motorway, public buses, (and taxis) whether heading north along the coast or south toward the busier areas of Adeje, La Caleta, Playa de las Americas or Los Cristianos. For the keen cyclists, a route up into the hills and Mount Teide starts just outside the village and one can enjoy food and coffee stops in the mountain villages en route.
A short drive from the villa is Los Gigantes landscape named for its majestic cliffs. Their imposing height turns them into an immense wall of volcanic rock rising into the sky.
The local bus service is cheap and frequent. Perfect for exploring Los Gigantes, Las Americas, Los Cristianos and Adeje, plus all places in between.
Golf courses in Tenerife are famous for their mountainous scenery and ocean views, with Tenerife's favourable weather offering ideal conditions for playing golf throughout the year. A number of golf courses are within easy driving distance of the villa.
Many of Tenerife's golf courses do not require membership and welcome visitors of all abilities, with golf equipment readily available for hire.
Situated on the southwestern side of Tenerife, the Abama Golf Course ia about 3 KM outside of Playa San Juan, is part of the luxury Abama Gran Hotel complex, which offers extensive leisure facilities. With 18 holes, a large clubhouse, a practice area, sandy bunkers, numerous lakes and water features, thousands of palms and impressive landscaped areas, the Abama Golf Course is one of Tenerife's premier golf courses and is best known for its spectacular ocean views.
You enter the property through a gate that has a voice intercom.

Walk through the gate onto a large deck and admire the terrace, pool and sea view before going through the front door into the open-plan living room with sea views and plenty of space to enjoy. There is a breakfast bar and a well-equipped kitchen with an electric oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, wine cooler and dishwasher.
The dining table with seating for 8 provides plenty of room for sharing meals and drinks.
The well-lit lounge area has comfortable sofas and television offering international channels and a view of the terrace. You will also find a small writing desk with an internet connection for you to use in this room. Sliding doors from the living room lead onto the outside deck, providing a seamless transition between in and outside.
There is a house WC on this floor.
From here four steps will take you up to the master bedroom, with a 1.8m king-size bed that looks out through a picture window directly to the sea and the island of Gomera. This room has an open-plan dressing room and an ensuite shower room with twin basins, a WC, a bidet and a large walk-in shower.
There is a stairwell to the 3 ground-floor bedrooms.
Bedroom 2 has a 1.6m double bed, a built-in wardrobe and a vanity unit. The ensuite shower room has a basin, WC and a walk-in shower.

Outside has lots of space to relax and soak up the sun or hide in the shade. There is a dining table and seating for 8 to enjoy alfresco meals whilst taking in the sea views and enjoying the sunsets with a sundowner. An external pavilion with sofas provides a cool corner to relax in. You can also use one of the 3 sun-loungers or take a dip in the heated swimming pool.
The swimming pool is heated by solar gain in summer to 25-28C and in winter by an air source heat pump to 26C.
There is an external solar shower and an external WC/changing room.
Laundry facilities can be found in the external laundry room and there is a clothesline to the rear of the villa.
A gas BBQ is available for you to use on the terrace.
The WiFi is good and there are USB sockets in the bedrooms and living room.
Family groups are welcome, with the principal booking guest MUST be aged over 25 years. There is a minimum stay of 7 nights and a security deposit will be required.
Whilst we welcome families with children at Villa del Mar, please be aware that the swimming pool is not fenced, and there are other obstacles/steps that toddlers may be at risk from. Therefore, responsibility for the supervision of toddlers and young children is that of the adults in the group renting the villa.
