Laurel cottage is nestled in the Dorset hills just 10 minutes from the beach and the market town of Bridport. The cottage is cosy, quirky and offers plenty of space to sit back and relax.
THE SPACE
Laurel Cottage offers a large open plan kitchen diner that opens out onto the quiet private garden, perfect for alfresco dining. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large electric range and all the mod cons to whip up a three course meal or just throw a pizza in the oven.
The living room has a large wood burning stove to test your fire lighting skills and if successful will delight you with a glowing atmosphere whilst you challenge your friends or family to a good board game or just chill out and watch a film on the smart TV.
Upstairs we offer a comfortable king size bedroom with large vaulted ceilings and views out to the countryside. A twin room with a standard size single and a small single bed. A sofa bed is also available for use in the living room.
A quiet private garden is accessed straight of the kitchen diner, perfect for alfresco dining. It has a large coal BBQ to cook up the catch of the day from the harbour in Bridport or sling a few Dorset sausages on there! There is outdoor seating for 6 to soak up the rays while you enjoy your meal in the fresh countryside air.
There is parking for one vehicle at the property. Additional parking is available around the village but it requires walking 5-10 minutes and is not secure so your vehicle will be left at your own risk.
Access to the property is through a neighbours garden and gates need to be closed behind you at all times.
Laurel cottage offers you contactless check-in, there is a lock box for you to gain access to the property and you will be left alone for your stay unless you require any assistance.
Melplash is located just 10 minutes north of the lovely market town of Bridport. The town is bustling with small local shops and regular markets, as well as the nearby village of West bay (where broadchurch was filmed) with its stunning south coastal beaches, quaint little harbour and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore, on the beach or in the village!
North of Melplash lies the Dorset village of Beaminster, clustered with local shops, cafes and pubs.
The cottage is surrounded with miles of open countryside with the south coast path just 10 minutes away and many many more footpaths zig zagging across Dorset on the doorstep. And if you are in need of a tipple there are many pubs in the surrounding area to get yourself some proper Dorset pub grub and a drink.
We welcome dogs into the property, we have a dog bed and some food and water bowls. We try to leave a spare lead and some doggy bags in case you run out. We ask that the dogs remain downstairs for their stay, a stair gate is provided if it is needed.An extra charge of £15 per pet up to a maximum of two dogs will apply. This is charged at the property directly to the owner.
The cottage has some quirky flooring in places due to the age of the property so people a little unsteady on there feet may struggle in places.

We supply some board games for your evening entertainment or you can use our pub walking kit that consists of some hi-vis jackets and a flashy torch to trundle up the the local pub just 10 minutes away.
The bathroom only has a shower and no bath and is located down stairs. The property is quirky and has some uneven flooring in places so be aware if you struggle with mobility. The property has neighbours and we ask that you are respectful of their presence by not causing a nuisance by way of noise for them after 10pm.
