Hop in the car for a quick drive to the nearby town of Hawi. Both towns include art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, and grocery stores.
To explore the surrounding area: drive 15 minutes to the north to view the majestic and sacred Pololu Valley, 15 minutes to the south to visit Mahukona for snorkeling and swimming, 30 minutes to the south to white sand beaches including Hapuna Beach, and 45 minutes to east to the town of Waimea. The main town of Kailua-Kona is about 60 minutes to the south where you'll find Costco, Target, Island Naturals and grocery stores.
