Immaculate cabins charmingly decorated located on over 80 acres of beautiful property that lines the Bogue Chitto River.
We currently have 5 Cabins that are well stocked with kitchen utensils, dishes and pots. In the near future we will be developing more rental cabins that are directly lining the river banks to enjoy the scenery. There are fire pits and grills placed at each cabin as well as a gazebo in the middle of the grounds for all who stay to take advantage of. (Note: You are welcome to throw birthday parties, small ceremonies and any other smaller events upon request for a small fee).
We also offer 8 camper/rv spots with full hook-ups (30 & 50amp) that also offers a fire-it and picnic table per spot. We intend on adding more during the next build-out phase. Note: Campers are not provided unless otherwise requested for an additional fee. We offer 2024 39' DBT Puma Destination Travel Trailers that feature two bedrooms (1 Queen & 1 King), 2 full baths, residential style kitchen, and a stackable washer & dryer to help with those longer stays. This is part of a separate booking/listing, but we are happy to provide the link for booking this option. We would have the camper fully functional and ready to use, including the same accommodations that the cabins offer from the linens, pots & pans, and toiletry items. We use this as overflow from the cabins until we can build more!
Primitive camping will also available in the next development phase so please stay tuned! With this expansion we will also be starting our nature walking path to allow guests the opportunity to comfortably and safely walk the grounds by the river and the swamps the cover our entire property!
In the common areas up front we have a very well shaded play area and swing set for the kids to enjoy. Along with a well stocked pond where you can catch catfish and then utilize the cleaning station just steps away. All of the cabins are within walking distance to the Bogue Chitto River where you can also enjoy the best parts of the river including kayaking, tubing, or just lounging in a low-back chair in the river on the sand bar/beach area. We have picnic tables in this area for picnics and we are looking to contract with the tubing businesses to offer a shuttle bus from the campgrounds to the tubing places & back for another benefit of taking it easy and enjoying all aspects of the river life! As we grow, we look forward to helping other local businesses, including Zona which is a local SXS riding park, all local tubing venues, and Restaurants/Catering bring life to our campground and in the process allowing us to offer more to our guests! Considering we try to maintain this as a very quiet and peaceful atmosphere, we do look forward to announcing certain weekends that will offer a chance to have live music and get togethers of the sort in our Pavilion on the grounds in the near future. Even hosting events for the kids like a s'mores night and jump stations on big holiday weekends! We have big plans for our future and we look forward to sharing it with everyone!
Mentionable Moment: The cabins were built & operated in 2014 by Susan & Brian Hennick. They had a dream of creating one of the best recreational campgrounds on the Bogue Chitto River following closely with The Bogue Chitto State Park. If you have stayed on the property in the past prior to ending short term rentals in early 2020 due to the unexpected death of Susan, then you a familiar with how much she took pride in maintaining the cleanliness of the cabins and the attention to details in the property maintained! So, of course we are happy that we are still able to keep this beautiful piece of property in the family and to be able to share it through short term rentals again starting October 1, 2023! We will be re-viving the grounds and getting the cabins rental ready in the meantime. Thank you for considering us for your next stay~
