Loch Ard is perfect for watersports with places to launch sailing boats and kayaks and a popular spot for wild swimming. If you can bear to leave the house and grounds, guests will find themselves in the perfect location for exploring the local area and beyond. The popular holiday village of Aberfoyle is just over a mile away and is a good place to pick up supplies with a small supermarket, local shops, cafés and restaurants. The local golf club has one of the most scenic courses in Scotland and there are several other local courses within an hour’s drive including the championship courses at Gleneagles. Nearby Loch Katrine offers cruises on the historic steam boat ‘SS Sir Walter Scott’, with various events including jazz, firework displays and pirate cruises and the loch side is a safe place to cycle and walk around the loch.
